I really wanted to do something unique for out-of-towners, but still be as frugal and crafty as possible! I quickly typed up a document in Word using 3 columns, utilizing the same fonts that we had on the invitations and save the dates, and voila! The trickiest part was the hole in the hanger - I took a round sticker, cut along the outside of it, and done! Crafty, cute, and custom!!

Fancy New Dining Room!

For the past year and a half I have been planning on sewing new chair covers... when Ted and I moved in together, it was Thanksgiving and we were hosting my family THE DAY I MOVED IN, which was QUITE a (stressful) Big Deal! We bought an amazing table at West Elm that perfectly fit our dining room (square, not elongated or I would've bought a super cute farm table!) - however, chairs are quite pricey, so we decided to go to Ikea and get a cheaper set of dining chairs. When we bought the chairs, we also stopped by a fabric store and ordered some super cute fabric which "we" planned on covering the chairs with! Before today, I had made 2 (TWO!!) because apparently I'm lazy and can't make myself work harder than I should! It takes approximately 1-2 hours to make a chair cover, because despite these things being relatively self-explanatory, they're a bit tricky! How To: Buy a chair cover that's meant to cover the chair ($10 at Ikea!!) and tear it apart!

Easy Custom Tufted Bed

Hello! Long time no blog!!! A few things have happened - having 2 kids being first and foremost the reason for the season (of not posting)! I'm soooo excited to share this super cute craft, because I searched far and wide and couldn't find a good how-to!!  Materials Needed Ikea Kura  bed Cardboard the same size as the piece you're adding the tufting to x2 (my neighbors threw out a giant box they received a new couch in!! So fortuitous and I keep jokingly (but seriously) thanking them for their trash!!) Mod podge Cute fabric 2" foam Buttons (double the amount you'll be using to make the indents) Button covers (or alternatively, use the kind that have a back that you can sew - I used this kind + hot glue, but the other kind might make more sense!!) Hot glue (see above) Staple gun + staples Giant needle & thread (to sew through cardboard, so a thimble is pretty handy too!) Easter/Halloween Baby Announcement!

It just so happens that Easter falls about 6 months before Halloween... and if your due date is Halloween (as mine is!!), then your first trimester is just about over right when Easter hits! As a holiday-loving family, we are super psyched to use any excuse to celebrate any holiday and do some holiday crafts!!  Lucky for me, I married a crafty man, so this all turned out exactly as I'd hoped. Supplies 2 complementing colors of craft paper Glue stick 1 egg dye kit + vinegar and water Some eggs (we used 3) A little nest (we got ours at Michael's for about $3) Greens of sorts (we just so happened to go to the farmers market this morning and picked up some edible flowers!)
